02 / The person behind the paintings

This is Ben.
And this is
his art.

A teenager. Music, judo, skiing. And paintings with so much to discover.

Ben was already severely visually impaired when he discovered painting. He explored techniques, experimented with colour and found his own way of expressing himself.

Today Ben is 14. He lives with Alström syndrome and has around two per cent of his sight remaining. He looks at his life and his future with optimism.

His outlook is an encouragement to keep going through difficult circumstances, set ambitious goals and try something new.

Ben’s Art is here to inspire: to think big, try something new and look ahead.

04 / Behind the paintings

There is always
a story.

Some begin with a colour. Others with a ride. And sometimes a story changes the way you see an entire painting.

Grandma was standing behind the canvas. Then came the paint. And the painting had its name.

After a motorcycle ride together, Ben wanted to paint a motorcycle. Drawing on his own experience.

One book. Many perspectives.Cover of Falsch geparkt – Was wir übersehen by Bernd Rosenbichler

Ben & the book

What we see.
What we
overlook.

Ben’s father, Bernd Rosenbichler, writes in Falsch geparkt about changing perspectives, making decisions and everyday life with Ben. About a white cane that means freedom. And about how differently two people can experience the same world.
